Toledo Made to Order
Montenapoleone Boutique

27 November 2013 – Fratelli Rossetti is celebrating Italian manufacturing with a special event dedicated to the secrets of the Master Artisans, which will be on show at the time-honoured Fratelli Rossetti Boutique at no. 1, Via Montenapoleone, Milan.
During the course of the evening, the Master Artisans of Fratelli Rossetti will be unveiling some of the secrets of timeless style: it will provide visitors an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the care and attention Fratelli Rossetti lavishes on each shoe it makes.
Two of the most important production techniques will be showcased during the evening.
The Toledo technique is a procedure for dyeing the footwear by hand. The neutral calfskin is vegetable tanned then buffed by hand straight on the uppers. The end result sees glossy, bright leather full of subtle nuances.
The stitching of the tassels is one of the techniques that has made the Brera moccasin famous worldwide. In fact it was in the Sixties that Renzo Rossetti first introduced the legendary tassels. In a country such as Italy which was still austere and unused to dedicating care to accessories, where essentiality was not a trend but an everyday way-of-life, this original decorative element proved to be a fully-fledged revolution.
Over the course of the evening, customers will be able to order their own footwear featuring unique, individual details such as engraving the initials of their name inside the uppers.
