Marangoni & Fratelli Rossetti
Awards

On Friday, 17 May 2013 the award ceremony was held for the first joint workshop between Fratelli Rossetti and Istituto Marangoni, a project dedicated to the participants of the prestigious international fashion school’s Masters in Fashion Accessories and Luxury Goods. After a meeting with the Rossetti brothers which took place on 11 March of this year, the students were asked to realize a product that was both innovative and in line with the brand’s values.
The students, who had two months of time to work on their proposals, were challenged to reinterpret the stylistic evolution of Fratelli Rossetti’s iconic footwear (the Brera tasselled loafer and the Magenta boot).
The Workshop winner was Qianqian Deng, a Chinese student who proposed a project in which the brand values were harmonically merged with her oriental culture. On the podium too Bruna Lais Grean, with an interesting variation on the icon's theme, together with Francesco Chioccioni, prized due to a great creativity and Asdrúbal Barreto-Abreu, who has also been praised by the extreme wearability of the presented product.
The project represents the start of the collaboration with Istituto Marangoni, the most authoritative Italian fashion school with an international vocation in the preparation of highly specialized professionals for the fashion industry. Fratelli Rossetti’s aim is to identify new talents among the young designers of Istituto Marangoni to add to its Style Department.

Fratelli Rossetti was founded in 1953 by Renzo Rossetti after a short debut in the sports footwear sector. Renzo, who passed away in April 2010, was able to transmit the passion and pride in his work to his sons Diego, Dario and Luca, who have headed the company since 2003. The entire block of shares belongs to the family and the headquarters remains in Parabiago, an important Lombard footwear centre, even if the Fratelli Rossetti name has enjoyed international renown for over fifty years.

Istituto Marangoni was established in 1935. Since then it has trained four generations of students and has been the launch pad for over 35,000 professionals, including important names in international fashion like Domenico Dolce (Dolce & Gabbana) and Franco Moschino. Istituto Marangoni’s mission is always the same: to create professionals for the fashion and design system who have a predisposition for learning and know-how and a solid aptitude for creativity applied to business necessities. Istituto Marangoni now has 2,400 students from 92 different countries divided among its four campuses in Milan, Paris, London and Shanghai, the international capitals of fashion. Its broad, diverse training possibilities include three-year courses, intensive courses, annual masters and short courses at all levels.
