New Artisan Event: Impagliando

Milan, October 18th 2016 – Fratelli Rossetti hosts the artisans from Impagliando and their designer hand-woven creations for the sixth event of the New Artisan initiative. The craftsmanship talent will be shown on October 18th 2016, from 6.30 pm, in the Fratelli Rossetti boutique on Via Montenapoleone. Marta Spinelli and Eugenio Taddei are the founders of the brand, which is built on their shared passion for craftsmanship and design. Over the course of the evening, Impagliando will reveal the secrets of their special weaving and caning technique throughout a live demonstration.

New Artisan is an initiative fostered by Fratelli Rossetti that is venturing into the world of Italian craftsmanship giving up-and-coming talents the opportunity to showcase their skills in the boutique on Via Montenapoleone in Milan. A series of monthly events will present highly creative businesses that use craft processes to produce items that are usually industrially manufactured, such as skateboards, lampshades, hats and wooden smartphone covers.
Next year, the New Artisan project will travel to Fratelli Rossetti boutiques all over the globe.

Fratelli Rossetti’s partner for the event is the Franciacorta Association. In keeping with the outlook of the initiative, the association is presenting wineries run by enterprising young figures who have chosen a career in the wine world. On this occasion, Franciacorta wines by Ronco Calino will be served.

Fratelli Rossetti was set up in 1953 in Parabiago, a town just outside Milan, thanks to the visionary genius of a man named Renzo Rossetti, at a point in Italy’s history when the country was taking its first steps into the world of fashion as a serious commercial business. The company is currently headed up by the second generation of the Rossetti family, brothers Diego, Luca and Dario who, thanks to their passion and hard work, have steered Fratelli Rossetti to its 60th anniversary, always in the pursuit of quality. The history of the company has resulted in the brand becoming known the world over as being synonymous with style: a shining example of the highest standards of craftsmanship.

In 2005, the creative artisans Marta Spinelli and Eugenio Taddei founded Impagliando located in Meda, in the heart of the Brianza area. In their craft workshop, they produce home furnishing accessories using ancient weaving and caning techniques. They take inspiration from constant search for exceptional materials and the quest to safeguard natural materials that makes every one of their creations unique.

The Franciacorta Association monitors and ensures compliance with the production regulations for Franciacorta, which became the first Italian wine made exclusively with secondary fermentation in the bottle to be awarded DOCG (Controlled and Guaranteed Designation of Origin) labelling in 1995. The association is involved in a number of activities, including protection of the brand and the territory, enhancing the value of the products through ongoing work on the production rules and regulations, providing information for consumers, and promoting Franciacorta as the embodiment of a territory, a wine and a production method. The association was founded on 5 March 1990 and it is based in Erbusco, in the heart of the Franciacorta area. Its current president is Vittorio Moretti and it represents 113 wineries.
