During Milan Design Week 2024, Fratelli Rossetti and the Fondazione Achille Castiglioni, two outstanding representatives of Made in Italy, are joining forces in a synergy that celebrates their history, savoir-faire and distinctive creativity. This prestigious union between fashion and design is suggested by many affinities, the presence within their creations of an icon inspired by the historic artists’ quarter, Brera, Fratelli Rossetti’s loafer and Achille Castiglioni’s lamp; two worlds that have had their small and large revolutions, inextricably intertwined with the city of Milan. The collaboration comes to life in the context of the exhibition “Progetti per servire, i Castiglioni e la ristorazione” curated by Marco Marzini and Chiara Alessi, on display in the Foundation, where Fratelli Rossetti is represented by Marco Marzini’s concept “Invisible visitors - Visitatori invisibili”. The invisible visitors, mysterious observers wandering along the exhibition route, establish a symbiotic dialog with the exhibition’s narrative. It is only through Fratelli Rossetti’s quintessential icon, the Brera loafer, that we can spot them and feel their presence. “Visitors are present but invisible. We only see their shoes, a defining style element, posing, waiting, and contemplating, as an extension and exemplified representation of an attitude”. On Monday, April 15, an exclusive opening event will take place inside the Fondazione Achille Castiglioni, Piazza Castello 27, featuring the historic and prestigious Berlucchi winery as a partner, with which Fratelli Rossetti has established a long-standing, quality-oriented collaboration. During the Fuorisalone week, the installation will be open to visitors upon reservation by e-mail: info@achillecastiglioni.it. Fondazione Achille Castiglioni The Fondazione Achille Castiglioni is located at 27 Piazza Castello in Milan and is where Achille worked for 40 years, until 1968 with his brother Pier Giacomo and then with other collaborators. It was set up in 2012 in order to develop the activities of the Achille Castiglioni Studio in a more effective and transparent manner, with a view to enhancing the material and making it available as a testimony to the famous architect’s cultural, artistic and professional achievements. Through management and use of the archive, the Fondazione Achille Castiglioni presents the public with the objects conceived by the architect by sharing the design process through the related archive documents, so as to develop the culture of design through research. One or more temporary exhibitions are held in the premises of the Fondazione Achille Castiglioni every year. Fratelli Rossetti Over the course of its 70-year history, the company has promoted small and large revolutions in the fashion world. Today, thanks to expertise handed down by the founder Renzo Rossetti, his sons Diego, Dario and Luca Rossetti are carrying on the models that have made the ‘Fratelli Rossetti’ name great, combining a long tradition of craftsmanship with an intense pursuit of innovation, while respecting the brand’s signature elegance. Thanks to its ability to combine contemporary design and manual techniques, Fratelli Rossetti is an international ambassador for Made in Italy and Italian style.
